Woodpecker method would be a good starter if you haven't done

The following books are good for advanced players:

Imagination in Chess by Paata Gaprindashvili
Perfect Your Chess (my fav) by by Andrei Volokitin and Vladimir Grabinsky
Grandmaster Preparation: Calculation by Jacob Aagaard

Question: Do you think this is better than online puzzles? If so, why? @hari2209

This is a really good question. Most of the young players are used to solving online, but they might not be helpful and in fact, it could even have adverse effects.

Mainly, the reason you don't pay attention to your opponent's resources (defensive ideas) and just make the move. And once the computer plays the best defense, it becomes a new position. This way we are only using our intuition and not calculating properly.

But at the same time, it is not bad for everyone. If you are disciplined enough to calculate the whole line before making the first move, its well and good but it's practically not going to work every single time.

If you are an advanced player, then you can make use of it and solve online, but I would always prefer to solve from the book.

Hope that clarifies your doubt!
