GM Evgeny Svehnikov died yesterday as reported today on chess.com (www.chess.com/news/view/evgeny-sveshnikov-1950-2021).

In his honor we are going to play an hour of blitz with the starting position of the famous opening called after him, the Sveshnikov variation of the Sicilian Defense (also called Lasker-Pelikan var.) - after 5... e5. (Famously played in the last World Chess Championship Match between Fabiano Caruana with the white and Magnus Carlsen with the black pieces.)

Created by KATG (lichess.org/team/kool-and-the-gang-), open for all players.
