Welcome to the Lichess community of Ennis Chess Club. We are a reputable team participating in national and regional tournaments in Ireland. We are also members of MCU playing each year in the Munster League. This year (2023) Ennis Chess Club successfully defended the Munster League Division 1 Trophy and finished 2nd in National Club Championship.
Our team meets every Wednesday at 8 PM in the Ennis-based Treacys West County Hotel. Junior players attend at the same place every Thursday at 7.30 PM. If you would like to join the club please contact John Cassidy at 087-2495913.
During Covid-19 restrictions most of our activities took place here. These include the Online Club League and Sunday Blitz Tournaments. We also took part in ICU Team Blitz competitions.
Ennis Chess Congress, organised since 2007 is an important chess event in Ireland. On 15th/16th May 2021 the tournament uniquely took place on Lichess.
