@Moscowneversleep I actually contacted him to talk a bit when I saw him playing again. He was one of the best RK players back in the times that the variant was introduced and got up to 2400. He hasn't played serious games in quite some months though.
As for the first question, it isn't possible to join the 2019 RKWC edition anymore. Adding new people would disrupt the current pairing system and brackets and would cause a lot more trouble than we would gain from an extra player or two. Besides, the entries were open for long enough and the RKWC was clearly advertised in several different ways so it's not that elite players active at that time could easily have missed it.
