Atomic Chess League 2025

The (formerly) @Puredication run Atomic Chess League (ACL) is back!

Here is the format:
- 4 players per team
- Depending on level of interest there will be 4-6 teams in total
- Each team will have a captain, who will be responsible for organizing the team, and ensuring all players are scheduling their matches

Each captain will assign one of his players to each of the 4 time controls, 3+2, 3+0, 1+0, or 1/2+0. Captains are allowed to change aforementioned assignments in between rounds, but such changes must be clearly communicated. Once teams have been paired, each team member shall coordinate a time to play their match with the board of the opposing team assigned the same time control. Once a set time is agreed upon, the players should post it in the appropriate forum. If a team wins the majority of the boards, they win the round, and get 1 point, with the loser receiving 0. Match lengths are as follows: (subject to change)

3+2: 8 game match
3+0: 10 game match
1+0: 20 game match
1/2+0: 30 game match

If tied at the end of a match, the two players shall repeatedly play sets of two games until a winner is determined.

More information is soon to come, please reply to this post to sign up for the draft, captains will be announced very soon!

*rules are subject to change
I am willing to be a team captain, please Dm me if you want to be on my team. Only Dm me if you are below 2000 atomik. I am planning to make a team of underdogs to prove that engine turnaround can make anyone win kekwbrug
I will be a team captain. I thonk we should make a topic where people can join the draft process, and captains will select among them.
Sounds cool, but there are still a lot of details left to figure out.
I'm curious to know more and will wait for updates!
