The only thing I think I don't like is the duration of the competition, you have to play like 6 months and is quite long, I would prefer a tournament of 1 month duration as maximum. I know the shorter the time for the tournament, the most problematic for the players but at the same time I think that would be possible. The ideal thing would be to play all together one day (like Sunday around 20 GMT or so) which usually is a decent hour for most of the players and the tournament could be more dinamic and not so slow and be playing one tournament in 6 months, but maybe 3 tournament in 6 months with this format.

Այ Տականք. Ինչ մեխկնես. Քո կարծիկը ոչմեկին չի հետաքրքրում բացարծակապէս. Քեզ սատկծնելը քիչ կլիմի

I see where you're coming from Onu and to that end I feel a weekly tournament would fit the bill (remember the Masters series Tsunami and I organized on FICS?). I've suggested an elite atomic arena numerous times but if there were volunteers it could be run as a private tournament here as well, say 2 hr tourney at 2 2 rated?

Yes GL, I think that would be better, but we should have to discuss some rules, qualifications rounds (if needed), etc. But as a general idea I think that format would work. Even these tournaments could work as FIDE Grand Prix where players get some points depending of their position, and at the end the top 2/3 qualify for the candidates?. Don't know, just putting here some ideas.

One problem for short weekly tournament I think is the time zone. People from US, Europe, and Asia have different times and specific time for a private tournament may not be fair for everyone. Also, if you have multiple tournaments(maybe 3?) to suit a time zone, there might be 'easier' ones where less top players participate. For example, two finalist from WC (LM onubense and tipau) both are in Europe according to their profile and that means the time that is suitable for people in GMT or CET region may have tougher opposition. Is there any suggestion to overcome this problem?
For duration of time, we may use one week per match which is used by many slow chess groups in chess.com. However, this increases the chances of forfeit as well. If we have one week per match and have 8 people single RR, the tournament should be finished by two months, with a week to spare for potential delays. What do you think about this?
I think one week per match may suit the elite tournament as they are keen for the match and unlikely to forfeit.
