I started playing chess out of curiosity, mostly online and after a few years at a local club
I got inspired by David Letterman's old interview and game with Kasparov
to be honest, I don't know. I absolutely don't remember how and why I started playing chess, maybe my dad introduced me, but what else could it be?
When I was 2 my sis and mom used to play in front of me . I learned the rules partially (except knight castle and an passent ) around that time .I've probably played 1 online game per 100+ OTB (friendly or fide ). That's probably why t just doesn't feels right to me when playing online
i was playing microstakes poker in the naughties, i was loving it but didn't want it to turn into a gambling problem for me. I saw a video on youtube from a russian GM called dlugy or something, the video was called tricky mate. I was fascinated by it. dlugy was later banned for cheating. oh well.
Found Microsoft Chess Titans preinstalled on my computer October 6, 2012. :-).
Turns out this is the same path into chess as CM Curriah from Jamaica (https://lichess.org/coach/Saps_Sean).
As a composer I have no chance of a CM title, so I will have to be FM one day. :-)

Knight castle? I don't know about that either!
@IamNOTamod there's still so much to learn!
