I have played 30 minute games with friends and when the connection went 2 or 3 minutes and the game never stopped

The game doesn't end automatically. After about 30 seconds, your opponent has an opportunity to claim victory (or claim a draw) when you disconnect.

In long games with friends, they probably just decided to wait for you to reconnect. In blitz games with randoms, 99% of the time, they're just gonna click "Claim Victory" and take the free points.
