I play on C.com or in person OTB. I only played here a few times with a friend from NL who wanted to play a few practice games.
I spend a lot of time on Chessable, not that there's any ratings there. (I don't care about XP there either). Where I do play, it's 100% like I see in top level tournaments where all the participants are just happy to play chess and view the outcome as the end of a game and nothing more.
I"m also older, and though I'm much less invested in gaming outcomes now than I was when I was young, I learned very early on that competing at a very high level in something involves as much Psychology as it does pure ability. One without the other is only going to get you halfway to success.
