Tani Adwumi and politics

This morning is was on youtube and in my recommendations i found a video of a top chess player coaching a young talent. This time it was about Peter Svidler coaching Tani Adwumi. I never heard of this so called prodigy so i googled him. Appearently it is a 10 year young immigrant boy that loves to play chess with a rating of 1730. Altough this is quite a good rating for his age it objectively doesnt come close to his 10 year old peers. For example Praggnanandhaa had a 2225 rating when he was 10! wich is about 500 rating points higher. Yet everyone seems to walk away with young Tani. Praised by Kasparov and visited at home by Bill Clinton he even got a gofundme page wich got over 250.000 USD in 10 days.

To me it seems obvious that the (far) left is interested in this young boy. He seems like a successtory but objectively seen he is a very average player for his age. And to me frankly it is quite sad that this young boy is becomming one of the figureheads of pro immigration parties trying to ram their ideas of inclusivity down our throats. He is thought to be the successor of Maurice Ashley, a well respected black GM and commentator wich we all adore.

I'm well aware that this might seem already racist to some but i beg to disagree. Isnt racism about giving people unequal chances based on their skin color? Well, in my opinion that is exactly what is happening here.

Looking forward to your reactions.

Praggnanandhaa has got more fame than him .
While this Guy is being taught by Svidler
Pragg was trained by Gelfald , Kramnik , Ramesh and Anand .
What I think on the other hand that after 4 yrs of learning chess , 1750 rating is not justified

Yes but Praggnanandhaa was indeed a real chess prodigy, that's part of my case. The special thing about Tani is his story, not his chess.

Your case being that it is the far left ramming something down your throat that you could have happily ignored? Seriously?

Yes, you probably are racist.

@Katzenschinken ahh a typical reaction from a far leftist, good to have you here. I can't really blame you to be honest. After WW2 Germany felt so ashamed they developed the Wir shaffen das mentality welcoming all kinds of lets say 'talented young men'.

I'm not even leftist, let alone far left.

But I guess if someone is at the far right he could call me a far leftist.

Im on the center-right but thats beside the point. The real question is: Do you feel all this attention for a very mediocre player is justified just because he is a black immigrant?

"thats beside the point"

It was you who started babbling about where people stand politics-wise. And it was you who made it all about the kid's skin colour. But you don't get that, do you?

I guess I was the person bringing up politic sides but that was because only the very left immediately calls someone a racist. And bringing up skin color is exactly the point of this discussion. When my 10 year old students reach that elo level they dont even get mentioned in the local newspaper. This boy is recieving 250k USD, gets to train with all the great GM's, gets a visit from Bill Clinton and even gets a scholarship. The only difference between Tani and my students is that he is a black immigrant and my students are white....

Don't you see the complete 'positive racism' here?

go live in a crappy hut in nigeria for 6-7 years, then go live on the floor of a homeless shelter. then post again. no need making a 9 year old that has gone through much more then you will ever go through in your life a political statement
