Free Bishop? No, Thank You.

I like how to bishop was hanging for 4 moves.

I was Black, by the way. Yeah, I didn't care for taking the bishop. I've been using this attitude that "Material isn't the way to win, but improving your position is, which naturally leads to checkmate." It's netted me easy wins and they are getting shorter.

@Rishan001 Yeah, it is weird. It seems like both MrCalderon and Joveno didn't notice that the h6 bishop was hanging. I think Joveno was trying hard to defend, that he didn't notice it and maybe MrCalderon was trying to attack, so he didn't notice. If MrCalderon noticed it, he could have taken it, or found checkmate and played it, like he did in the game. I don't think Joveno saw it, because he/she could have used it to defend his king.

@MrCalderon When you declined the bishop and said thank you, did your opponent say welcome to you?

@gracexd I'm pretty sure that @MrCalderon saw it from the instant he played his queen to the h-file... he just played stronger moves. Take that bishop and White gets to grab the b8 rook for his other one. Black is still winning but the teeth of his attack are gone and his king is wide open. Why give your opponent extra chances, when you can completely rip up his king's defenses?

@phoenixshade gracexd said that he probably wanted to play checkmate, instead of taking the bishop.
