How can black be victorious? It was a draw

I believe the best interim solution would be to allow a player to "claim draw" in more circumstances before their clock runs out. In a real OTB game they could state their play strategy to confirm they can't possibly lose that way. e.g. "I will just keep moving this bishop anywhere, I don't care if the opponent captures it". Or "I won't underpromote". In online chess, a computer would have to determine whether they have a valid claim.
I was waiting for this. Finally someone said this since I started debate over this.
How would you ensure it without computer interference?
I mean it's not hard to program it. When both sides have only a minor piece each, then the computer should declare it draw. Else, what's your method to make it practical?
Else, put same rules in case of offline chess.
And then GMs would lose because of such rule and can't anymore say 'I will play this and this and won't put my king at corner and lose (blah-blah)'.
What would 'you' do as a judge?
Answer my questions.

I can't believe this has gone on for 5 pages.

take this one link of yours as an example

www.quora.com/Is-it-possible-to-checkmate-with-only-a-knight-and-a-king-against-a-lone-king

in your game, it was king and knight against king and pawn, that question and answer above was king and knight against a lone king.

it's because you had a pawn that checkmate was possible and therefore it's not a draw on timeout. that rule applies to everyone.

I had a queen for all intensive purposes (sic)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we need to "drag" this thread out until lichess realises the bloody error of its ways.

Right, I'm going to promote to a queen and still lose, great chess logic ugh

Post #48 and the OP still doesn't get it and keeps going in circles. Very sad.

@excelvbasql I hope for you that you are not so resistant to advice in real life.

Except by theory you could as well promote to a bishop knight or took

If the queen is already on board, it's a draw
