Often when playing games against others locally, I go to chess analysis post-game and play the computer-assigned "best moves". However, I have recently found an infinite loop: http://prntscr.com/r86voi; is there anything I can do to avoid this other than make a move disadvantageous to both sides? Is there any way to view a move that is just as good, but not computer recommended?

What do you mean by infinite loop? No sorry, won't click some random link thanks.. There must be a way to explain it here or copy and paste the results that explains it to this forum. As it stands, infinite loop can mean many things when it comes to computers.

He is talking about a move repetition, or, more mathematical, strongly connected components in the move graph (chess is a tree of graphs, crazyhouse is a graph). This is an interesting problem, especially when it comes to min maxing.
Solution: Set up the engine to show two instead of just one line. Then execute the second best move. This is anyway a good idea in order to see what else is possible in a position. I know a correspondence player which always lets the engine ponder seven lines.

You mean when it continually suggests the same move over and over?

That is far from convincing me to download something from a random site - thanks! And don't bother you won't convince me. I would rather just focus on the problem. But to be honest if it really is simply the suggesting the same move all the time like @N78_Training says, then his fix is correct. I don't think he would need more than 4 or 5 lines either. Anything more you can just enter moves and see how the eval changes.

@MeWantCookieMobile You are right. Better do not click links on the internet. Here are some to test your stamina.

Good try. But that's not the reason I don't click them. So unless you figure out the reason you wouldn't understand my lack of interest in clicking them. But good try anyway.

@MeWantCookieMobile yes, i do not understand your reasoning, indeed.
