Who is the most defensive player on chess?

By the way, Petrosian (the old one) was a strong tactician and Blitz player, he even played the KID.

So don't get that wrong.
@Sarg0n i remeber him saying he made a living playing against the KID?
He would always make sure to prevent his opponent's play in it's roots, and only then proceed with his plans.
Carl Schlechter - Like Petrosian, known as a draw wizard. He nearly beat Lasker in a title match. :]
Géza Maróczy, perhaps... One of the most defensive players of his time
Ulf Andersson.

He played Hippo, more Hippo and so much Hippo that he needed to buy hippopotamus food from a zoo.
I mean sure, we don't have a 32 piece tablebase. But all evidence points towards chess being a draw.

Try playing around with the lichess database. You'll notice that as you remove the lower rated players from the pool, the percentage of draws keeps increasing, from approx 5% to approx 30% in the masters database

If you compare the draw-rates between engines on CCRL, they increase from 9.8% at 1378 elo to 51.7% for stockfish, rated at 3493 elo. Bear in mind that stockfish is playing opponents rated an average of 150 elo lower, yet it still draws every 2nd game.

I'm curious at what elo the draw rate would reach 100%? There should be some way to calculate that based on the trend.
The correct answer to this question right about now is: GM Tigran L. Petrosian
