Okay, that's exactly what I meant.
You've got that information. So I wanted to know where you got it from. I'm just curious.

We measure how much people donate.

Both lovlas and I are volunteers at team lichess (among a lot of other volunteers!), so we know about lichess internals, including donations.
It's not public right now but we might change that in an effort to improve openness at lichess.

Thank you for treating me like an idiot. You are really nice.

Thank you for the straight answer I was looking for. That's all I wanted to know. Cheers.

No need to feel insulted. I misunderstood your question.

Okay, no problem. Thank you.
The reason I'm interested in that is that I am really humble in terms of money, and my country is in a rough situation right now(inflation). So I was about to donate, but then I thought that maybe they have enough money and my donation was not needed at the moment. You know like Wikipedia? When they need donors and show you a big message asking you to donate? Well, that's when I donate, otherwise, I don't. You might call me cheap but I'm not.
Now that you tell me that donations are currently low I changed my mind.
Thanks.

I get that. There is nothing cheap about keeping money you need. Of course we would gladly accept any donations. But if you need the money yourself, you really shouldn't feel bad about keeping it. Thanks for the donations!

lichess will release their donation totals when Trump releases his tax returns.
which is smart, by the way. openness only invites scrutiny.

Well, the information is that donations=costs
How could it be clearer when each donator gives an amount? Maybe provide info on how many users donated each amount in a month?
Just curious. I actually feel bad for not donating, but not allowed yet without a valid card. I wish I could pay some kind of bill.

#38: I see openness as a sign of beauty. And it's much more relaxed when you gave up all your hiding games.
That might be contra-intuitive if you see it from a wordly perspective where accumulating money might be desirable, but from an inner perspective openness is much much better.
