Problems with Lichess in my opinion

Opinions can be interesting. But not when you come with random claims without any other support.
My guess is, it's still about the donation thing. Some people don't get how a donation works. A donation is a gift. You are not forced to make one to participate in this group. You do not improve you status in this group by donating. But you need to free yourself from the idea, that if you donate money, you can expect ANYTHING in return.
If you believe thibault uses the money for something else than paying the bills, then feel free not to donate.

If people like to worship other people who spend their free time developing high quality open source software, it's totally okay for me.

I never experienced a moderator being rude or unfair here.

This thread is a prime example of people loving to complain. You can deliver the best possible service for free and people are still unsatisfied.

The good thing is that these people are free to leave. But it's hard to leave if you love online chess. Where to go? chess.com/?
This reminds me i need to donate is it possible to do via paysafe yet?
The moderators on this site are largely humourous. This is, perhaps, why some people are calling them rude.

Humour makes people laugh, or it lightens their mood, if it is humour that appeals to them. However, if the humour does not appeal, it may make the attempt at a joke rather insulting/rude.

Plus, humour usually has a target. @thibault 's comment above (#22) is aimed at the OP (or at least I think so), and that could be hurtful to them if they don't see the funny side to it.
"I wanted to donate to this site but when I looked into it I found the financial concept to be very self-destructive...

I think this site is THE best platform for chess. It works GREAT! And thibault and the staff are GREAT programmers and developers...

Grow up, start treating this site as a service instead of a pet project or this site WILL NOT LAST."

So basically, in your opinion, you scored a free ticket aboard the Titanic and unless the captain listens to a know-nothing stowaway like yourself we are all doomed to crash into an unseen iceberg? I'm willing to bet my house that you are wrong, but in the meantime, as a request from a fellow passenger, would you please stop whining so we can all enjoy the music? Or else summon up the integrity and courage to follow through on your threat to jump ship.
What I find most interesting about the OP is that he's basically giving capitalistic business advice. He's suggesting that because Lichess is working using a patronage system that it would somehow work even better if it was using a profit model.

I don't personally agree with that logic. There are already plenty of pay chess sites out there and the OP admits to finding this site superior. The last bit of irony, of course, is the OP should realize that they could apparently just download the software and make a profit driven site if they wanted to. I don't think that's against the licensing of the software source (please correct me if I am wrong.)

TL;DR: There will always be people who think what you are doing is wrong because they think their way is better. Listen to them but continue to do what you think is best (is the best advice I can give.)
It looks like none of my points got answered, apart from ad-hominem.

That is ok. I didn't expect my views to change anything, I just wanted to speak my mind out.

I used harsh words because I have grown sick of the "energy" of this site. And the energy is created by the people who run it, like it or not.

From the customer service point of view, this site is ran like a clan forum on some RTS game. "If you don't like it, get out" is the motto here.

I have come to realize that I would rather be a paying customer on a site that runs like a business than a free member on a site that is run like somebody's private gang.

This is a toxic environment, where some of the staff abuses you and attacks you if you disagree with them or if you criticize them or the site.

I told you to grow up, because you need to grow up. These ego games are for kids.

Perhaps you don't understand what players bring to a site.

I have recommended this site to dozens of chess players (because the platform is superior), I have played a decent amount of games on a decent level without ever cheating thus contributing to the player pool and the integrity of the chess here. I have added great value to this site.

Like every player who plays here adds great value.

So do you really want to treat players with the motto:

"if you don't like it, get out"?

You have no site without players.

To answer your motto:

I don't like it, and I will gladly get out.

Ggs, enjoy the chess, kudos to @Sarg0n for being a respectable character, I admire your cool.
