As Tiger Petrolcan use to say: "If you wanna be a chess luxury boss, read my teachings, it's not expensive!"
Wow . Thank u every for your opinions. I just wanted pursue chess as a passion not a career. But I would love to become a gm one day. I don't care about how much time it will take . Currently I'm a kid but when I'll grow up I will not hesitate in buying chess resources. But until that I will just try to improve on my own and some e books. There are about five years in that. Till that I will try to reach 2400 rapid and classical.
Guys, I really like these nature vs nurture debates. I will bring my chair and watch it.
@GOD_OF_RAPID
@drmrboss and me are Pure Chess Lovers. None of us plays professionally. It's a misconception chess books and chess software are for professional chess players.
1300 the most I think ...(I haven't reach)
@ryan121
I really can't imagine Magnus Carlsen buying Robby Fischer's book in order to learn the game. Lol... Of course, maybe he's checking some deep tactics with the engine, but only during his training and not as it is regarded above. The OP was about reaching some level WITHOUT coaching and memorising, I suppose, and not about computer assistance.
Chess for Beginners by Bobby Nest
"When two chess players play each other, they wear a piece of clothing, which is called a chess robe, which is worn over all the other clothes a player is wearing. Chess players wear the chess robe over their clothing to signify that they are either winners or losers."
@ongyt , @screamingmonsters claimed he reached 2200 within 2 months without any books or assistants.
(If you dont believe it, dont argue with me. It is his claim and argue with him, LOL). Post #36
