Well done Pia!

Kramnik: Gotham just played the top engine move, time for the procedure!
Hans: *bzzt* No, that engine's not strong enough, that's the wrong move.

Pia is becoming the women's version of Korchnoi.
Very successful, and long careers.
Just need Pia to win a National title when she is 80.

I was glancing at their game today as I had time. This match is a great learning opportunity for Gothamchess. Good that its multiple format.
I started watching Anna Cramling's channel a year ago, I learn alot from Anna and Pia analyzing their games.

It was a good first match. Alex was a very insightful commentator. Anna stressing over Pia getting into time trouble was funny. Like, your mom is a veteran. She's not going to just flag in classical with 30s increment.

She did get down to one second at one point though. Once my opponent got down to one second in a classical game (he didn't flag, but I won).

The game became far more exciting to watch once their clocks had run down and they played on increment alone.
Essentially it was 30 seconds per move, and we were getting moves coming in at a good rate, but not a silly time scramble like I see in online games with 0 or 1 second increment. (3+2 will probably end up that way)
Pia is the same age as Kasparov (both of them just 2 years older than me)

Have you ever heard Pia live commenting Anna's games? It often sounds more like ice hockey live comment than chess. :-)

In the post game interview she admitted that at that one moment when she played the move surprisingly slowly and ended up pressing the clock with one second left, she wasn't aware she was so low on time.
BtW, I liked the jokes about the "That's a shocking move" phrase.

Yep. More like this though:
(Kramnik and hans watching the match)
Levy: **plays top computer move***
Pia: ***also responds with top engine move***
Hans: (has Stockfish in his hand)
Kramnik: TIME FOR THE PROCEDURE!!!!!!! (calls FBI)
