I don't know what to do anymore.

How is that supposed to work? How can the lag to transfer a whole screenshot be shorter than the lag to transfer a chess move?
I guess, tinkering like that is one of the reasons why some players are just unplayable because of their lag.

I'm now considering moving to France for better ping.
Are we even sure that Lichess hosts its servers in France? I know that the NPO is registered in France, but that doesn't mean that its servers also in France.

Generally using a proxy will not improve ping. You need to understand the asymmetric nature of networking and how Lichess premoving works to understand why it does here. But at least you try to understand unlike @GettingMuchStronger. Ignorance is not a problem, arrogant ignorance is.
So you already have all the needed answers and know what's the real problem of SnekNOTSnake48? (who is busy playing and winning lots of bullet games every day, btw., despite all his grievance.)

My reply was about the premove latency specifically which can give someone severe disadvantage just because of geography even if they have good network connection. We know enough to give that advice.
What kind of geography would that be?

Well, he claims to have premoved and if he's not lying, just looking at his games & move times tells a lot. From the Lichess perspective he is not premoving. My solution would obviously fix that because the premove latency would no longer be dependent on his connection but on the proxy server's connection.

I'm not lying. My ping is legit 1172 right now. Well, not all of them, but like 95% of them are premoves. I created this thread out of anger so I didn't think much. I didn't expect to get an actual solution.

Your plan does sound like it would solve the premove problem. It also sounds like a lot of work: renting remote pc, setting up the software etc etc. Not to mention the increase in overall ping. Think I'll just wait it out. My ping will get 274 in good days and at those times it feels like I'm flying.

Let me say that as someone who has been playing online chess for almost 30 years (and is an ignorant noob, otherwise, of course): Under conditions like you describe them, with a high lag on your side and probably on your opponents side, too, it is almost impossible to say who has made a premove and who has not, only the lichess server can, I guess. Both sides are blindly moving around under irrational and silly conditions, how could you say that you really premoved? It is just an illusion, imo, most of the time. (my personal conclusion: please don't play bullet when you lag like hell, it is a nuisance for everyone.)
I would still be interested in the answers to my questions: What country, wlan or cable, potatoe or high-end machine and so on? I guess almost nothing has anything to do with the servers standing in France, like your op implied.
