Cheating on Lichess?!

I play on Lichess over Chess.com because of the major difference in cheating rates, but lately I'm seeing more and more cheating on this site, too. Lichess staff? Hello? What's going on here?

Lichess staff cannot hold every cheater's hand and stop them from plugging on the engine. What they can do is ban cheaters for cheating. What you can do is report your opponent if you suspect them for cheating. Use https://lichess.org/report (the response can take 24-48 hours, and if it does not, your assumption could be wrong)

That's right Magnus aura but still don't you think that ai should be in the system even the staffs or moderators are human

Hello :-)

I think I have a partial answer: you are supposing that there is more and more cheating - which is a strange conclusion to hold after only 2 months on the platform and 39 games played. Thank you for your numerous reports but if the users you are reporting aren't marked as cheaters it is possibly because they didn't cheat in the first place.

Maybe try considering that most players you encounter are playing fair?

This response is gaslighting. This isn't the only person who has stated there is more cheating on Lichess now.

There can be increased cheating on Lichess and most of the players on Lichess are playing fair. Both things can be true, Nikonoel. I suppose that both are true.

very true. and according to those other people, cheating has steadily increased for a long time:

and you can go further back, no problem. it's always the same. cheating has always increased in the past couple of weeks/months/years. if all of these people were right, lichess would have been cheaters only before 2020 already. there is really two constants in online chess: (1) people cheating and (2) people claiming that cheating has increased "recently" based on zero evidence.

Respect for this high effort post, that's really funny.

In other news:
the music has gotten worse, somehow every decade for the last 90 years...
Also:
the youth are disrespectful and lazy now and worse every generation (this goes back to at least 400 b.c. I think Socrates, not sure atm).

Judging by the annual reports, the number of cheaters remains at the same level as last year. The numbers are quite modest, about 400 per day. But the big problem is that everyone is allowed into tournaments of any importance. And when we see a player with a total of about 100 games in the top 10 or even on the podium in an arena battle for shields or even a regular weekly tournament, it's hard to believe they're a new talent. I'd say there's an 80% chance they're a future red mark winner.

So if the general consensus is that the Moon is made of cheese, then it must be made of cheese, right?

By the way, it has been around six weeks since my last encounter with a user who obtained engine assistance.
