why are ppl so against this, i have a chess.com acc,

People like to have in-groups and out-groups. Having a (real or imagined) enemy gives a sense of purpose, reinforces or creates a sense of belonging, and gives an easy metric for assessing and dividing things up. By the way I recommend the movie "The Wave" (not "The Fifth Wave") if you haven't seen it, I think it is quite relevant for the current state of affairs in the world.
