Alternate history...what if ...?

@Savage_Cactus
Surely even then there would be a country called (something like) Germany would there not?
The pressures in international politics (in Europe) at that time would still be extant so one can safely assume that some other prominent person would take the reigns and follow a similar path.
I think the fact that Germany wanted an empire but were rather late to the table, (most of the fest of the world being settled by then), left the Garmanic states with few options but to provoke war with France (annexation of Alsace-lorraine for example) and so on.
You would have to go back a few centuries to change things radically I think.
What if there was a test to detect psychopaths so they could not be candidates for political jobs?
What if Julius Caesar had said "No,I get seasick really easily.No river-crossings for this guy!"
I think he would not have been able to keep the conquered, there would have been uprisings, the course of history would have changed a little, perhaps the revolution would have happened later, maybe there would have been no world wars.

Yes Sir, I think you have it. A good point.
Some changes, yes, and from a personal angle for each of us, the question is, would we exist if some change in the past, quite unrelated, and even in a different part of the world would have caused a small change which had consequences for our lives.
