there are arenas at 10:30 AM IST, so those arenas are suited for Eastern players, there are also 6:30 am arenas.

The major issue would be duplicate entries. I bet many would try this. So how will Lichess find players with multiple accounts participating in the competition.

Hello, Chess960 Friends!

I'm happy that it finally happened. It was unexpected for me, but very pleasant. I agree that it's a great promo for FRC. It's great that now we can combine playing in such a long-awaited event with watching a lot of great games of super pro players.

I rarely play with grandmasters, I have low rating for that, maybe arenas of these official qualifier events are my chance to finally win GM at FRC? :-D Of course, if grandmasters will participate, and I really hope so ;-)

The only thing that makes me a little sad is that berserk remains allowed in these arenas. Berserk significantly increases the probability that not the players who played better chess will win, but those who played worse chess but got more free berserk points :( I'm in favor of disallowing berserk in those arenas, since it's the world championship after all. I believe that creating an environment where those who play better chess win is more important than having a berserk-show element in the competition. [Arena streaks option is still acceptable, because the series of wins indicates the stability of the player (although I don't mind disallowing this option as well).]

So :-), welcome to the party!
