1st best move change

If u go to https://lichess.org/analysis and turn on the engine for white it says 1.d4 is the best move for white in the starting position but before it used to say 1.e4 was the best move, is this a bug or a new feature? I personally think 1.e4 was/is better.

Maybe both; 1. g4 provides the greatest surprise factor, so isn't it best?

If g4 give you more mobility and decreases your opponents mobility, then ya its okay.
The impact of a pawn move can last a long time.
Increase your mobility, decrease your opponents.
Increase your threat possibilities, decrease your opponents threat possibilities.
Memorizing only gets you so far, then you have to learn with a different mind set.
Chess engines randomly move a piece when it cannot distinguish the advantage between moving one piece or the other. Random is luck, it's not logic.
