@htt49 Tilted is a term often associated with poker, whereby a player who is upset tends to make very rash and aggressive bets even though the mathematical odds are stacked against them.

I think here OP is referring to a chess player who hangs a piece, or falls for a simple fork, will tend to sacrifice pieces hoping for a mating pattern that isn't there, or convincing themselves they're gaining some other sort of advantage that just isn't there.
