OP I actually hope you don't leave. I think if you stop worrying about what's going on behind the scenes and just take the site as a place to play chess then you'll start enjoying it again. All the best with whatever you decide to do though.
Thx. I think I‘ve seen a lot in the chess business. Being a moderator myself in a big chess forum I see both sides of the medal. I am enjoying the time here and now - who knows what the future will be?

Who wants to click on a topic and be confronted with kids posting cartoons? Not I for one. The forums are for Discussion, not a sandbox, besides taking up data that members on a limited plan don't appreciate.
The OP makes contentious statement, one I don't favor. Repeatedly using the term "disgusting" and his argument begins to lack credibility. But it is his opinion.
I ask if he's not satisfied with the "social" end of things, why not simply stay away from the forums and only play chess? His point of this is the best platform for playing, nobody argues about.

hahahaha. I know you hate me but you're clutching at straws now. How much data does a gif use exactly?

On topic. A problem with the forums, but then it is only my opinion.
I call it "kiddies in a sandbox" ;-)
Gifs use far more data than plain text. 10 gifs per page takes extra time to load and uses up data quickly.
I do not "hate" anyone, that's just another coy game using such terms.
The topic here is General Chess Discussion. Want to post cartoons? Suggest Off Topic.
