But you only see it when you're not registered, so maybe that ́s the whole point of it: to get people to register as fast as possible so they don ́t have to see it anymore.

Wrong, you see it when you are not logged in. And in that situation I would rather login than register another account.

Which is a very bad reason. Sadly such obtrusive behavior is quite common on commercial sites, but I think Lichess can and should do better than that.

I don't think it's obtrusive or bad at all. :shrug: It does draw attention, which I think is fine to encourage people to register.

On another note we should complain about these "wings" they are eyesores, I don't care if you donated. Why should you care, If I know you donated? Did you do it so people would see you donated?

Didn't they originally only display on a persons profile? Same guy who made this button, changed that.

Also, The emoji in names should be banned.
