To the people complaining about rating points: your rating is a reflection of your playing strength. If you lost points, you will earn them back quickly, assuming your playing strength has not changed.

I agree. You rating does not determine you strength, but it is the other way around
RIP my ultra points.
Points are to determine your average rating. But that doesn't mean your rating matters a lot. Your real strength is what carries your rating. If you have good strength in chess, You are most likely to gain your ratings back very quickly, assuming that your chess rating is very stabilized.
