That's very rude, especially on this site where even classical games are quite short. That is also totally unreasonable. It is always disadvantageous to waste time, so if they piss you you can reply something like "Are you really that stupid? It is YOUR advantage if I waste my time."
These people almost always have something in common.
When I see that in the chat, I immediately begin an investigation and almost always end up moving the case up the ladder.
I think that often times they don't have the patience to think about their moves. They just want "action". Which is weird, why not play blitz instead? So yeah, I don't know. But keep on practicing, there is only so much you can learn if you don't have patience. Being calm makes someone's personality better, and it helps in chess, too! :)
It happened to me many times, i told them to go and play bullet if they want faster chess, and i need to think , and some of them resigned, i dont understand why they accept classical game and then hurry hurry

@Waldorfschule1995I've had exactly the same issues that you are experiencing. I only started playing chess this year and playing 15+15 has helped me advance more than anything else. I started getting offensive messages from some opponents and it's incredibly distracting. It almost made me want to stop using Lichess, but I decided the app is far too good for that and the best thing to do was to just ignore any messages completely. I use the mobile app on android and couldn't find a way to turn them off...
Those people sending negative messages aren't worth your attention.
maybe they are cheaters and have no patience to wait cos they already know the moves totally ridiculous i resign instantly
When they tell me to hurry I take longer, and act dumb in the chat like I don't understand them. It makes them more likely to blunder on their turn ; D
Don't worry too much about negative messages in the chat.The best way to punish them is checkmate them :)
