Yes, the Nf6 lines are pretty much slightly better for white but only after accurate play!. Especially, black will often create complexities and imbalances in the opening. The line you just showed isn't even the best, and you don't even go in depth. Let's continue from 6. Qe2 Nxd5 and if 7 Nf3 as you said then e6 8. c4 Bb4+ 9 Bd2 Bxd2+ 10 Nbxd2 N5f6 11 0-0 c6. Take a look at that, you got your space but Black's position is pretty hard to crack and material is equal! How does such a solid position come from a bad opening then?
