What do you think of the Scandi?

Personally I am not a big fan; either black equalizes or white is better. However it is almost never the case that black is better. Nevertheless, I decided to try it out for the sake of fun and I went for a rather rare variation as well! Furthermore, I felt as I live in Norway I should try and play it. You can check out how it went here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0glANeWw6MQ&t=15s

I like the scandi a lot!

I would have won, but I decided to make a draw by move repetition due to time trouble.

Just had a nice game with the Scandi :D. I like the Scandi a lot too but I agree with what you said. You're basically saying you are going to be playing slightly worse out of the opening. That fact seems more true in the main line Qxd5 lines but you are extremely solid which is why I go for the Modern Variation instead of the main lines. Instead of just being slightly worse, i personally believe it gives a lot more practical chances than the main lines. Aggressive and leads to tactical positions your opponent most likely does not know(as seen in my last game). Very tricky, Carlsen has a pretty popular game with it. I can't seem to find any books about it so I studied it on my own and i feel like its paying off :))
I still play it often. I am usually able to equalize with piece activity for both sides, but getting to be better is rare, which is to be at least somewhat expected given that I'd be black when playing the scandinavian. Black can also get into some real trouble with his king or with the light squared bishop outside the pawn chain in case white starts advancing the h,g and f pawns up the board. it's difficult but as you learn the ins and outs, it gets easier.
I like playing against the Scandinavian, because White is the only one with ,,potential".
Also i like the (rather rare) plan with Ne5, f4 and f5.
Yeah in the Main Lines, i dont even know too much theory but finding the best moves and plans aren't actually that difficult imo.
I'm usually fine playing the Scandinavian, but I normally play the French Defense or Open Game (1. e4 e5)...
@FUTUREWCC I play the Scandinavian regularly in blitz & rapid. I go more Caro-Kann-ish in classical, but my all time favorite is still the Sicilian. BTW in bullet I used to play 1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 3. Nc3 Nf6 with a nice Botez Gambit, And if my opponent doesn’t take I will sac the queen again on g2 :D
I play all bad opening, Scandinavian, Dutch and frensh. So I can say with confedent that these openings are badly ones but as you konw I do not have time to get another openingings
@Donaldsen If you have that idea, you should try this as white against the Scandinavian: 1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 3. b3 or 3. g3...

@Fowzi2078 You get plenty of counterplay with the French if you know what you're doing...
