for me, e4 might be slightly better but it doesn't matter which one you play.

D4 is trickier because there are a lot of transpositions, where as in e4 there are far fewer transpositions. For example, a Ruy Lopez is never going to transpose into a French. Whereas with d4, a London could easily transpose into a Queen's Gambit if white decides to fire out c4 instead of c3 later on, as an example.

Its d4. I don't play it much myself, but the starting position is evaluated as +0.2 and after e4 its 0.0 and after d4 its still +0.2 . Nf3 is the best according to stockfish. But if you ask my opinion, its e4.
If it wasnt for the Berlin or the Sicilian it would probably be e4. Unfortunately for e4 players though, Black has 2 very very excellent options depending on which result he is interested in, whereas I dont see any options that are on the same level as the Berlin or the Sicilian for Black vs d4.
