What is the worst opening in chess?

I'm not up to anything, just wondering what other people's opinion was.

  1. f3 for white i thought was bad

  1. e4- e5 2.f4 - exf4 3. Kf2 (kings gambit: Tumbleweed)

Modern engines score 1.g4 as much worse than 1.f3 or any other opening move. Deep searches down many lines in the computer chess community suggest (but don't prove) that 1.g4 is probably losing for White.

@corvusmellori the Grob is actually a nice surprise opening which can be used to good effect, if White knows their stuff.

  1. g4 isn't helpful
  2. f3 weakens the king's position
  3. Na3 and 1. Nh3 put the knight on the edge of the board

In Duras Gambit (1.e4 2.f5) the second most popular line is 2...Kf7.I think this variant could well compete for the win in "The worst opening" nomination

  1. g4 d5, black wins a pawn (or gets full control of the centre) and I don't see any danger for black.
