Have come up against 1. b3 about twice so far and I'm hovering around 950 after nearly 600 games. My opponent is nearly 1200 and appeared to be fairly proficient, so I am assuming this is the mainline of the recently introduced ideas around the 1. b3 theory. I have absolutely no idea about this, please do let me know if this is the case or not. Hence, when I saw 1. b3 I already knew I was doomed. However, I kinda went 'what the hey' and despondently went for it anyway. And well, I do think I there may be something here for the keen student.
I thought I would post it here in case I happened to introduce some previously unconsidered ideas that may be of use. As I say I have not studied the opening at all, and I certainly felt like I was a couple of tempos behind almost all the way through. After experienceing a dire tourney, I am now in a very happy mood :)

Don't feed the troll. The game is complete garbage from both sides.

@win-draw-loss and all, sorry, trolling unintentional, I did mention our ratings and that it was a <1300 rapid game in the title.
Ok not a refutation.. but still there is hope for the noobies, moral being, just play and have fun if you dont know what you're doing. like me obviously lol.

That's all well and good but it's already been scientifically proven (and fact-checked true) that black always wins if he starts the game out with 1...Nf6 and follows it up by 2...Nd5!
So nice try buddy but I already knew that theory. You can't fool me into thinking you didn't study tirelessly against the last opponent who dared play 1.b3 against the almighty mixed_chillies !!

I think at our level is theory not that important. Just follow the opening principles. :))

Btw it's sad to see that lot of people are trolling in the answers.

@zotyahobbisakkos yes. I was hoping for some Fried-Liver or Lolli Attack action but all I got was Queen Gambits and Sicilians.. then this Nimzo-Larsen at the end just for some cherries on the icing. Theres too much theory to know what anyone is doing at this level, so principles is probably the best approach really.
Galloping Horseys is a principle isnt it? :p
