This morning while playing on Chess 24 I had the oddest game and result in recent memory. Because it was on my phone I took some screen shots which read,

You Can't win em all!
Draw as LordTrap12
ran out of time but you have insufficient material to mate.

Here's the rub. I was only one move away from an overkill staircase mate with my queen and rook and 3 pawn advantage with 18 seconds left on my clock to their 2 milliseconds and I had pre-moved the mate when the message popped up to startle me.

Can anyone explain this?

@Bullet-Star So you have drawn a game due to exact same issue on Chess 24? Having more than enough mating material and time and your opponent was less than O.5 seconds? I don't follow why time even matters here, that was not the reason given for the draw.
