My favorite anime is Duolingo Anime on YouTube.

It makes sense. Dragon Ball is very much in this epic aspect, the first season was inspired by traditional Chinese and Japanese legends, and the anime is very focused on martial arts.

Without wanting to force it, of course, I think My Neighbor Totoro would be accessible. There's no violence or battles, and it's one of the most peaceful animated films you can watch. It tells the story of two children who discover the spirits of the forest and Totoro, a benevolent spirit who will help them and make them understand the importance of nature and respect for it.

Well, I would suggest you watch "Grave of the Fireflies" (another ghibli movie).
In Japanese with subtitles of course, not the german dub.
