What's The Difference Between A Catalyst And An Enzyme?

Catalyst:
a substance that makes a chemical reaction happen faster

Enzyme:
a substance, usually produced by plants and animals, which helps a chemical change to happen more quickly, without being changed itself

Difference:
Enzymes are biological, protein-based catalysts, while catalysts can be any substance, including simple inorganic molecules, that speeds up a reaction. The key differences are that enzymes are highly specific for a particular reaction and operate under mild conditions, whereas general catalysts are non-specific and can be less efficient. Enzymes are also more sensitive to temperature and pH changes and are regulable, while inorganic catalysts are typically rigid and their activity isn't regulated.

Catalysts facilitate reactions. They can be enzymes.
