The very day I moved away from my birthplace, to start a new life on my own. I can remember the weather. The feeling. The heightened expectations and the underlying excitement.

Yet moving away tends to be a mixed blessing, in my experience.

Sure we can fly! Although admittedly a PPL takes a fair amount of expense and work to obtain.

But once obtained? There are even some perfectly good aircraft that were designed without flaps!

But an aircraft WITH its own flaps? Ah. There's the dream!

Admittedly, my hope is fading.
