If you become a Patron, that means you donate to the Lichess and Lichess pays salary to for their employees.
Why don't you just become a donator here? Here's the link: lichess.org/patron

Chess.com is overpriced.
No ads on Lichess, and there are admins here to monitor the fair play.
I've ever got banned once when I was caught cheating. That means this site is great.

Lichess is a non‐profit association and we should support them. Why should we support the greedy capitalist?

As far as I know, the only person earning money at lichess is Thibault (I could be wrong, but there is a breakdown of Lichess costs somewhere on this site). Again, when you pay money to chess.com, you’re directly helping them pay their employees, which means you’re putting food on someone’s table. In my book, that’s a good thing. Giving people jobs is a good thing. Working is a good thing.

As a matter of fact, I am a lifetime lichess patron, meaning I donated $250 dollars on this account to lichess.

Money isn’t evil, and neither is the pursuit of profit (as long as it is done ethically - not harming others in the process).

It disappoints me that chess.com often lags a bit behind lichess.org with regards to features available.
