Trolls are people who start flamewars purely with the purpose of making other users feel insulted. It is also probably the most misused term in the lichess offtopics, FWIW.

Troll = someone trying to bait a reaction from other people

Trolling would be the equivalent of this:
Person 1: DUDE HIS PAWN CHEATED AND KILLED MY PAWN
(innocent)Person 2: No, thats just called En Pessant
Person 1: Oh so youre in on this whole cheating scheme? I'm reporting and blocking you, I have no tolerance for people like you

Essentially trying to bait people for reactions in odd ways, go to the chess.*** community and you'll get a better understanding:)

Troll can also be when you play in a prize tournament and you don't GET the prize aka = https://lichess.org/tournament/52ckr18k @jaibansal PROMISED his team and us he will give prizes but he did not so that can also be called "TROLL"
