Dinosaurs became popular because of Jurassic Park. I would guess. probably they were cold-blooded, very very stupid, and did not adapt well to change.
I didn't see Jurrasic Park the movie but I like the basic idea in. the book. Michael Creighton (sp?) had some ingenious ideas in many of his books. Congo in particular was very cool. There was this herd of mutant gorillas that would sneak up on wayward explorers from behind, crushing their skulls like grapes with these big stone "clappers", one in each hand. LOL
