Predator: Badlands

This movie is breaking my paradigms about science fiction action movies:

  1. I will not watch a movie where the protagonist has a scary looking mouth.

  2. I did not like the first film in the series, therefore the sequels will suck.

  3. I will not enjoy a sci-fi action flick on a dark complected planet with an always cloudy sky.

I was proven wrong on all accounts, above.

I really like the characters and the story.

I still have not crossed that one from my list yet, but I really want to see it.

I like the alien race's language and their backstory was well done.

I think that the simplicity of the story (between the Road Movie and the Fairy Tales or even the Nordic and Slavic Sagas), is one of the big strengths of the movie.

It's very easy to watch without having to know the canon and it enlight us more to the Yaujta culture.

Also the visual design of the weapons are very interesting and refreshing, it's the first time we see a Yaujta with a sword or a bow.

Elle Fanning is the great revelation of this year in my opinion.

Maybe that the idea of having two similar androids was took from Alien Covenant, I appreciate the contrast between the smiling one (Thia) and the vilain one (Thessa), very nice performance.

I DID NOT recognize Fanning.

Yaujta is a cool name, seems like you could run out of good names for aliens.

That could be a title for a send up version of this flick. LOL.
