I didn't know that, but I guess there wasn't the scientific know- how to prove its existence. Which brings up an interesting question: Before we discovered it, was oxygen there? Before the invention of the microscope, did microbes exist? I would think yes on both those. But I don't know. I hear arguments all the time that there is no evidence, i.e, scientific evidence of God. The flip side of all these questions is, is there, or was there evidence that oxygen, or microbes, or God did not exist. After all, just because Europe didn't know about America didn't mean it started to exist when the Vikings discovered it.
I believe in God. I believe that he or she is a good God and a scientific God. After all, he created science. But I didn't write this trying to convert anybody. I just think there are quite the number of very intelligent people on this forum, and thought maybe some body would enjoy thinking about a logical question without a logical answer.
A priest, during his sermon, posed a question: If you are listening to a talk show on the radio, and you change to a different station, do the people on the first station stop talking. Of course not, we changed the frequency; we stopped listening, they didn't stop talking. He later said this: Most people say this world is three dimensional, but what if there are more dimensions we haven't discovered. What if God is talking to us all the time, telling us ways to improve our economies, the environment, energy production, etc. What if we were to just learn how to tune the frequencies?
