I'm not sure what you mean by this as Lichess works fine through Tor for me.
Why not? I use Tor all the time. Mostly not for onionsites although if a website has an onionsite too (like Reddit or The New York Times), I'll use that because why not.
If I may demonstrate and I repeat might be my network setting or browser using onion option.

And indeed, in console its not nginx, rather the browser.
One or more documents in this page is in Quirks Mode, which will render the affected document(s) with quirks incompatible with the current HTML and CSS specifications.
Quirks Mode exists mostly due to historical reasons. If this is not intentional, you can add or modify the DOCTYPE to be <!DOCTYPE html> to render the page in No Quirks Mode.

Interesting, since I can connect to Lichess just fine over Tor, either using the Tor Browser Bundle or just plain Firefox over Tor. Are you using a bridge? What happens if you do "torsocks curl -I https://lichess.org"?

I'm using a bridge in VPN and not using Linux atm so that curl command did return not found on host.
Have to use Homebrew etc for that.

I'm referring to Tor bridges that you can use if Tor is blocked in your country for example. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "bridge" in the context of VPNs. You are using both a VPN and Tor?

If I use Tor it's always over VPN, as my VPN works with Tor I set the bridge mode in that VPN's setting to Automatic to avoid setting TCP I don't set it ON.
The browser of that VPN it works. (It has also a browser best to use along with it)

Or just Linux in VM also work.

I'm not sure what the advantage of using both Tor and a VPN is. Seems like it would be better just to use Tor alone. Does your network traffic go through Tor first and then the VPN, or the VPN first and then Tor?

From the screenshot you sent it looks like that browser is Brave.
