Wouldn't it be nice if all of life furnished us with a yearly recap?

For example:

Number of times I petted the spaniel: 22,390

Number of times the spaniel looked at me, impatiently, as if to say "What? That's it? No biscuit?" 21,289

Number of times I've declined to argue with a person made grumpy by the stress of living: 223

Number of times I've realized that I can sometimes become grumpy: 452

Number of time I've been grateful for Lichess this year: 10^6

Number of people who spotted Ford engines lurking in this post? Unknowable

Number of times I've let the Hippopotamus down, and felt shame for doing so: I don't really want to know. Not everything needs to be summarized.

Well, what can I say? Kudos to Lichess for the individualistic stats.

While standard chess is my primary go-to, I can only assume that everything's accurate for each player. And it's nice to see little recaps like these once in a while.

According to Lichess, my most frequently played openings are the Queen's pawn game (as White) and the Ruy Lopez (as Black), which sounds about right.

I'm surprised I've played for 18 days. That's a lot of time invested in chess for a casual player.

As for how many moves I've made so far (230, 000+), I can't help but wonder if Lichess is trying to remind me of all the blunders I've made this year.

All in all, thanks to Lichess for creating this feature, which can be useful in some way.
