The Earth isn't flat because if it were, then it wouldn't look like a circle all the time from space! Sometimes you would see a circle, sometimes an ellipse, and sometimes edge on, but that doesn't happen :)

Well, if you're referring to the "Flat Earth Society," then it is actually just an intellectual society that seeks to challenge notions that are broadly accepted. One such notion is the belief in God, or the belief that faith in God is antiquated, or possibly that the moon is a spaceship from another intelligent civilization. They just enjoy hearing lectures on bizarre yet hopefully somewhat justified theories....or rather hypotheses at best in most cases.
