Flat Earth

The Flat Earth Society is simply an intellectual social club looking to experience interesting conversation on controversial topics. One of the lectures I attended talked about a linear vs relative perspective on Anthropology. The guest speaker defended a linear ideology which is considered highly offensive and ethnocentric in modern anthropology. "Flat Earth" as a name gives the society an easy way out when under scrutiny to retaliate by saying things like, "get off our backs....we're so stupid we even believe that the earth is flat and maybe even democrat socialism is going to save the iconic american capitalist from their own unrestrained greed and need for human slavery in order to maximize our incestuous lust for conspicuous consumption!!" It's all just a ruse in order to allow those of us with an interest in intellectual subject matter an adequate forum to listen to interesting ideas.
