This one took me maybe 8 to 10 minutes. Not terribly difficult, but I had to try a lot of stuff. This one is fun!

Well, your chance of winning the board is probably only one-fourth of one percent, at best. (1 in 400). Possible, but not likely.

Nothing special, except you get your name in the hat 24 times, so 24 entries. I'm guessing there will be maybe 9000 to 10,000 entries, hence my odds estimate.

9k-10k?
i mean each puzzle on average gets 900 answers so 24x900 = 21600
that's a lot
assuming i can get 19 entries that's still 1/1,000

I think you're right. I was basing my estimate on last year's point totals. (The 2023 total points were 8,871.) However, I've just compared the points for last year and this year through the first 5 puzzles: Through Problem 5, the 2023 points were 1,189; The 2024 points are 3,733. (Over 3 times as many.)
So it seems that the calendar is much more popular this year. I guess maybe divide my previous estimate of winning by 3.

Wow, one person solved the problem in less than a minute. I have visions of that person frantically refreshing the screen to view the problem the instant it was posted. :-)
