The scale and impact of fireworks during Diwali is much larger and concentrated compared to Fourth of July or New Year’s.
That’s why the concern is raised more here. That said, if fireworks are truly a problem in the USA, similar rules should apply there too...

The issue isn’t Diwali itself, but how society as a whole chooses to handle fireworks in a fair and consistent way.
