I found my friend's account on Lichess and Chess.com but I can't message him in Lichess. He is a classmate of mine last year and now we got different schools so I kind of miss him. So I really want to talk to him. I can message him on Chess.com but I don't use chess.com a lot. When I search his username on Lichess's Inbox, it shows "(Player's name) doesn't accept new messages". What does it mean? Is there a different way to interact with him in Lichess? It's annoying to not have a way to chat with my friend.
it means he set his options here: https://lichess.org/account/preferences/privacy to not allow everyone to contact him. or maybe he has set kid mode.
you can try to challenge them to a game.

Thanks! I already try challenging him and we're playing right now. But even though there is a chat room, I don't think he notice my message in it.

zen mode, kid mode, or your friend might be banned from chatting. you can try to send them the link https://lichess.org/appeal, they can check themselves there.
